HIDDEN MOUNTAIN, READ EXCERPT

“Dance like no one is watching. Sing like no one is listening. Love like you’ve never been hurt and live like it’s heaven on Earth.”

— Mark Twain

In a matter of days, my life as a dedicated archeological anthropologist had emanated into a world engulfed by secrets, risks, and espionage. Amanda’s peculiar entrance into my once sterile intellectual world created nothing less than the perfect dichotomy. Hell, she was a dichotomy. Amanda’s unusual radiance intrigued me from the beginning. She is both benevolent and alluring to this day, this often confuses me.

In an awkward move, we made our way to the bed. I threw back the bed cover, and gently coaxed her to lie back. With her body flattened into a vulnerable position, I whispered. “Amanda, it’s your turn.”

She placed her fingers in the waves of my hair. In a brisk motion, I clutched her wrist. Her eyes stared into me.

“Submit to me, this time let me love you.”

She sounded delirious. “Antonio, what if I can’t?”

Uninhibited, I observed before me, her beautiful unprotected body. After a moment, I transferred my focus to my path. My mouth bathed her lips until they became succulent and swollen. Her shimmering eyes mesmerized me.

THE PUEBLO: Excerpt from KING SOLOMON'S JOURNEY

"Hold on to what is good, Even if it's a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you believe, Even if it's a tree that stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must do, Even if it's a long way from here.
Hold on to your life, Even if it's easier to let go.
Hold on to my hand, Even if someday I'll be gone away from you."

Pueblo Indian Proverb

... "Imagine with me Antonio, step back and see it as it once looked." Amanda used her hands to show Antonio where to look and see what she drew with words.

"A large rectangle, made up of 50-70 rooms. The largest tower room would have been built at the base of that large western boulder. Even before its construction, the boulder could have been used as a place for rituals and calendrical forecasting. From there they could have observed the changing settings of the sun in anticipation of the winter solstice as the sun moved across right where we are standing."

The prequel!
In the beginning...

Unaware of the existence of the other, Anthropologist, Antonio Dominguez and Spiritualist, Amanda Messenger have inadvertently lived parallel lives.
They have studied the mysteries and history of the ancient people of the earth, the ties that bind past and present, and have sought to understand mankind's deepest meanings, now they have been led onto a path that will take them into the past, present and future.

Drawn together by fate, they have uncovered 3,000 year old scrolls, which have lain protected since King Solomon first sent them up the Rio Grande, within the confines of the mysterious Hidden Mountain. Ancient and valuable in their own right, the scrolls hold the key to unlocking the gates that will save humanity from approaching catastrophe.

Hunted by evil forces —who will stop at nothing to keep them from revealing the answers—Antonio and Amanda find themselves on the run and up to their necks in trouble as they race against time to solve the King’s mysteries.

The Mystery Within The Thirteens: Excerpt from KING SOLOMON'S JOURNEY

ALPHABET RAIN IN THE DESERT by Poet Ben Miller

Alphabet Rain in the Desert

By Ben Miller

In the forward flowing sands amongst the freedom chimes

We stood in the wind sages burning

No direction but to rise and no motion in the sound

Clouds and letters descending in alphabet rains

But still we are lost on the high and lonesome long time road

That twists around that craggy and teeth filled mountain

Following hints and clues left for us to dissolve in our bodies

Only inherited for this brief spark of journey

Must we return it when we’re done like a rented soul jacket

Must we solve all your clues or is it enough to leave

Anchors in our dreams and screams avalanches on those desert walls

Slithering down endless roads of trying

Review by By Marta L. Moran-bishop "M.L. Moran"

A MASTERPIECE PACKED WITH ADVENTURE, HISTORY, LEGEND, AND LOVE.

Sammy Sutton has another masterpiece in her sequel to King Solomon's Journey. The second book in the Dominguez Adventures, Hidden Mountain, is packed with enough adventure, history, factual, and mythical elements to delight any reader.

So deeply does she take us into the hearts and minds of her characters Antonio Dominguez and Amanda Messenger that you feel like they are dearly loved family and you want to protect and help them. The mixture of the legend of King Solomon, with the political events that we see happening in our world today, brings mysticism and reality together in a spell binding tale.

By sending a special envoy that will briefly inhabit a specific location on the other side of the world, in what would one day become America. King Solomon sets the stage for the tribes of Israel to unite in all the holy centers of the earth, thereby giving them a chance to save the world.

Antonio and Amanda take us on a breathtaking adventure through the political landscape of today, and the divine world of legend. It is so well researched and written, by Sammy Sutton, it totally captures you. Making it all of it not only possible, but probable by the time you are finished.

I held my breath waiting for this book after reading the first in the series, King Solomon's Journey. Hidden Mountain, like its predecessor, left me once again biting at the bit for the next book in the series.
